How do I kill a normal running process in Vista with Python?
few ways
1) use Python to call external command taskkill.exe
2) use Python wmi, see here

It's nice to see that taskkill made it into vista. We had some confusion once-upon-a-time due to the fact that taskkill is in XP Pro, but not Home Edition.

Usage:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. import sys
  2. sys.system("taskkill /im notepad.exe")
I really like the wmi module solutions. It opens up a whole realm of possibilities for you.
