Re-developing the Application using Python is slower

440 256MB
Hi ,

I have re-developed the existing application which is thier in FOTRAN using Python. The algorithm is same for both.

But the execution time taken by the Application in Python is more than in FOTRAN.

In FOTRAN it is taking ~5 Mins
In Python it is taking ~ 20 Mins

Is anybody came across such situation?

Thanks

Some will depend on your skill with the language.

Take a look at psyco and let us know how things turn out.

There are also several pages devoted to this issue, like Python Speed/Perfomance Tips.
