Wxpython and video help!

5
Essentially I am developing a voip phone using a SDK and wxpython. Well I've gotten all the phone stuff to work but for some reason the video has been giving me a lot of trouble. I have been told to use ActiveXWindow to call the clsid but that doesn't seem to work. I also tried using mediactrl passing in a URI but either I wasn't supplying the correct one or wasn't using it correctly.

All I would like is to be able to see video that is coming to my computer from a video phone but I can't seem to access that video. Any help at all would be appreciated greatly and thank you for your time!

Hi, ohyea. I'm just at the starting stage of adding video capture to my wx application at this moment. I know this doesn't help you now, but in the near future you may get advice from me. In the mean time, it would be gread to have someone to bounce ideas off of. Are you using MS SDK, (I'm guessing Windows)? Etc.? Let me know. Thanks.

OK. I found your OS in the sticky. Thanks for that.

Sure thing. Yea so I'm using the counterpath SDK and it calls for adding video and I just can't seem to figure out how to access the video stream. Have you gotten anywhere or had any ideas that I might try?

I am very close. Just when I was ready to add streaming, I had to change priorities. This guy has done a lot of the work. It's a few years old, but is the foundation for my work.

So I see how he uses the video stream coming in from a source connected to the computer via a webcam or other such device but I can't see how I will be able to access video coming into the computer from a sip server...

Still very lost if you can't tell :D

I guess what I really need to know is how to get activeX control of a video stream.

For example in c# if I had a stream:
video.GetOcx()

Any help?

Yep. That's exactly what I'm working on being able to do.

Is that the COM version of the SDK?
