Py2exe Linux?

I'm sure we're all aware of py2exe, but is there a Linux equivalent, and if not, does py2exe work in WINE?

Please help us help others by posting your solution.

I was going to suggest PyInstaller, but don't have any experience with it.

Thanks. Keep posting,
Barton

I was having similar difficulties. Didn't know how to get Py2Exe to work, couldn't figure out PyInstaller. Google led me here and I was disappointed, but I figured I'd come back since I found the solution. (I think.)

http://mail.python.org/pipermail/pyt...ly/269445.html

Going to go try it out now, hopefully it works!

Edit: Aw, it failed. However, I decided to try PyInstaller with the Windows version of Python, and it apparently works.

Thanks you so much for the link. Thanks, mostly, for coming back to share this information. With a little work and contributions like your, this forum will shape up to be the place that I have been working toward for almost a year, now: THE place for Python experts to exchange knowledge and experience in this very cool programming language!

Thanks again,
Barton
