function minimization

Hi!

Does anyone of you know a python library to find minima of
multivariable mathematical functions?

I know that in SciPy there is what I need, however I wonder if there is
something lighter without the need to install the whole package.

Thank you a lot,
Stefano

(by Kenneth Price and Rainer Storn)

there is a link to a pure python example on
the web page.
