IDLE wont run!

P: 2
I've uninstalled Python 2.4 recently, which worked when using IDLE, and installed 2.5. I made sure to uninstall both so as to avert an installation conflict, so no problems there.

I'm running Windows XP SP2, and am attempting to run the program OpenRPG+. Also attempting to at least -edit- a .py file in IDLE (which also does not work, so this is not an application specific problem).

IDLE uses a little bit of the CPU and then fails.

Any leads?

This is usually your firewall blocking IDLE's loopback port.

This doesn't look like the whole message. Also, let's just try to get IDLE running first. If you start a 2.5 command line from the Start menu and enter:
import idlelib.idle
you should be able to see any errors.

By the way, I have both installed on my system (XP Pro SP2) without problems. Environment Variables control which version runs by default and which folders to search for extra modules.
