Looking at the docs that I found, I was thinking that GUI support was very limited. Then I found this by following the help link:

GUI Class Reference (PyVrGui)

VrOne/Python graphical user interface and miscellaneous system routines. More…

Note: This class is under construction with only several routines available.

That last line says a lot! I'd contact them directly.

If I understand correctly, you want to identify text while working in Vr, then manipulate it or act based on it's attributes.
If this is the case then the easiest way to do it is to use the Id() member of the PyVrText object. For example the script...
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. text=PyVrText()
  2. print text.Id()
  3. print text.GetText()
would bring up a typical VrOne Id menu, allow the selection of a piece of text on the screen, then print a number (the entity number for the particular piece of text) and a piece of text.

I have also begun a blog which will be dedicated to the exploration and discussion of VrPython which may be of interest.
