Shelve DBRunRecoveryError

Can anyone help with this error message when using Shelve : Python 2.4.

Traceback (most recent call last):

self.dataStore[i] = v
File "C:\Python24\lib\shelve.py", line 130, in __setitem__

self.db[key] = value
DBRunRecoveryError: (-30978, 'DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database
recovery -- PANIC: Invalid argument')
