psycopg supress output

How do I supress the output generated from each psycopg command:
import psycopg initpsycopg: initializing psycopg 1.99.10
typecast_init: initializing NUMBER
..
[removed 20 lines]
..
microprotocols_add: cast 0x46dd20 for (bool, ?)
initpsycopg: module initialization complete
