python a jdbc

Is there some to use jdbc driver with python ? I thought about
communication between java process and python throught sockets. Simple
test worked fine.

Why not use jython if it is a java app that you want a hook a python
interpeter into the application.

Because many things - wxWindows (java binding is poor and java gui's
aren't good enough), slow startup of jython (in development time) ...
