Problem with old Pickle file

Hi --

I have a problem where I have a database file containing pickled python
objects written with a previous version on python. Attempting to read it with
present system install results in the following error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in ?
AttributeError: 'bool' object has no attribute '__dict__'

The pickled format used is the non binary variety. Is there any systematic
way of going about reading the pickles ? If i can do this at least, writing
them out so that they can be reimported should be fairly straightforward.
