New style class & Old style class in Python

Hi,

I came across some posts here mentioning new/old style class in
python, would anyone care to elaborate them or point me to some
relevant online doc?

Thanks!

http://www.python.org/doc/2.2.1/what...00000000000000

and

http://www.python.org/peps/pep-0253.html
