scipy_distutils was from a very old version of scipy that used Numeric, not
numpy. PyKF will have to be upgraded to use numpy. I suggest asking the author
about it. If you are willing to take on the task of upgrading it to numpy, come
join us on numpy-discussion, and we'll help you out.

Hi, what version of python are you using? I got the same error when invoking a customized, 2-year-old version of distutils with python 2.3.3 (instead of 1.5.2, as before). Reason is code in dist.py, using dir() to look up the attributes of a class instance. But dir() nowadays also returns the class methods, __doc__ etc. Changing this in the old distutils/dist.py made it work for me, again (line

#No rant intended I'm not at all confused wether I should learn an one of the advanced array modules, I'm slightly confused over which I should pick up. I'm impressed with the efforts of SciPy and Scientific, but since I'm fairly new to programming & OO, choosing Numarray over Numeric hasnt been that satisfactory at all, which is not a problem of the quality of Numarray, but the fact that a lot of modules still heavily realy on Numeric....

Hi, I am using a Debian system. I installed NumPy and everything works well. When I try to install SciPy, I get the following error. Any help would be appreciated. === idf@server1:~/scipy/scipy-0.4.4$ python setup.py install import core -> failed: /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/numpy/core/multiarray.so: undefined

Simple Python code obviously cannot use the dual core by Python threads. Yet, a program drawing CPU mainly for matrix computations - preferably with Numeric/SciPy - will this profit from a dual core when using 2 (or more) Python threads? robert

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
