sui,

I am sure you'll find many web services
that you can use to send SMS'. Your
problem would then become one of
learning how to communicate and access
web services in Python. Start with:
* urllib and urllib2
* xmlrpc

There are others...

cheers

Hi list. If I'm not mistaken, in python, there's no standard library to convert html entities, like & or > into their applicable characters. htmlentitydefs provides maps that helps this conversion, but it's not a function so you have to write your own function make use of htmlentitydefs, probably using regex or something. To me this seemed odd because python is known as

All, I downloaded the OpenEMM (Linux & Windows) to install. The Windows version uses Python as the Installer and the programmer for this installer made some bad assumptions about the installations. I posted a run-down of the install problems at: http://www.openemm.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2101#2101

Hey folks. I know approximately zero about web clients. There's a simple task I want to do. (I think it's probably simple.) And I figure a Python script ought to be just the ticket. Some web feeds use decimal character entities that seem to confuse Python (or me). For example, the string "doesn't" may be coded as "doesn’t" which should produce a right leaning apostrophe. Python hates decimal entities beyond 128 so it chokes unless you do something like string.encode('utf-8'). Even then, what should have been a right-leaning apostrophe ends up as "’". The following script does just that. Look for the string "The...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
