Weird import problem

I have a directory structure like

NS/dir1/file1.py
NS/dir2/file2.py

if in the python shell I type

import NS.dir1.file1

it works, however typing

import NS.dir2.file2

fails with

ImportError: No module named dir2.file2

Any ideas what could go wrong?
Directory permissions seem to be OK.

Missing __init__.py in the dir2?

It is the directory structure in one of the python paths.

Oh right. I forgot about this. Thank you!

Hi, I have been using Python for a while but today I came across a really strange behavior: While poking around in Queue.py due to problems with importing this module from a thread I got an error that a module that I imported on top of the file could not be accessed. I reduced the problem to this small script:

Hi all, we're currently developing an application in the .NET environment that needs to access a DLL implemented in Fortran. There is one procedure with about 17 parameters, most of them arrays. After some trial and error experiments, we've found out that a) the parameters must be ordered by type, i.e. we cannot mix double, integers and Strings (char-Arrays) - instead, we first need to put all the float-Arrays and Int32-Arrays, and...

Hi, I'm experiencing a strange problem with .mdb files. We have two buildings connected by optical fiber (a single LAN). Everything works perfect with any file, any size, any application software. The hardware has been tested several times. Viruses, trojans and so on: clean for sure. The problem is that .mdb files (_only .mdb files_) often don't open, are very slow, or even get crashed and corrupted. The weird is that even copying them...

Hi all, I met a weird problem when using scipy.integrate.odeint(). It is followed as: from scipy import * y=integrate.odeint(lambda y,t:sin(y)*y,y0=random.rand(N),t=arange(0,100)) If N>= 73300 or N<=70400, it works well. Yet, within the range(70400,73300), it goes wrong with a error message "MemoryError". I am very confused about that. My python version is "Python2.4.3", scipy version is "scipy 0.5.0.2033". By the way, my computer's...

Hi all, I'm embedding python in a C prog which is built as a linux shared lib. The prog is linked against libpython, and on startup, it calls Py_Initialize(). The prog imports a pure-python script. The script starts up ok, but when it imports the 'math' module, the import fails with:

I've been using pydev for a short while successfully, and Django with postgresql as well. psycopg2 is part of that behind the scenes I would imagine, to make django work. Now I'm trying to use psycopg2 in a non-Django program, I'm seeing some weird behaviour My "import psycopg2" is tagged in pyDev (eclipse) as "Unresolved Import: psycopg2"

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
