Hi..

How to connect Python with Java.
This is my Python program. i use jpype to connect Python with Java.
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. from jpype import *
  2. startJVM("d:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.6.0/jre/bin/client/jvm.dll","-ea")
  3. jnavClass = JClass("Semantic")
  4. jnav = jnavClass()
  5. jnavClass.pilih_ayat("i go to school")
  6. shutdownJVM()
  7.
and this is my Java program.
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. import java.text.BreakIterator;
  2. class Semantic {
  3.    // native C++ method
  4.    //public native void printMessage( String message );
  5.      public native String printMessage( String message );
  6.    // load library JNIPrintMessage into JVM
  7.    static {
  8.       System.loadLibrary( "JNIPrintMessage" );
  9.    }
  10.       public static void main(String [] args) {
  11.        pilih_ayat();
  12.           }
  13.             public static String pilih_ayat(String n){
  14.             JNIPrintWrapper wrapper = new JNIPrintWrapper();
  15.                String ayat_siap = wrapper.printMessage(n);
  16.             System.out.println("output >>" + ayat_siap);
  17.             return n;
  18.         }//end pilih ayat
  19.       public Semantic(){
  20.           System.out.println("Berjaya");
  21.       }
  22. }//end class
  23.
How to move ("i go to school") at Python to pilih_ayat at Java. And then return ayat_siap to Python?
Any idea?

Below is some information I collected from a *small* project in which I wrote a Python version of a Java application. I share this info only as a data point (rather than trying to say this data "proves" something) to consider the next time the "Python makes developers more productive" thread starts up again. Background ========== An employee who left our company had written a log processor we use to read records from text files (1...

At my work we are in the process of building a tool to test an XML based API. Basically, XML in and XML out over http. Currently, there are two engines that do all of the schema validations, xml diffs, sending/receiving, etc. One of these engines in implemented in C# and the other in Java. Now the choice comes down to which scripting language we choose (Perl, Python or Jython) to tie into one of these engines. The scripting language...

Hello, as a non-developer I am currently participating in an industrial "research" project to develop a so-called "web application". This application serves at the same time as middleware to connect several other "conventional" enterprise-applications such as ERP, SCADA etc. and to provide a GUI frontend to the users. The developers are into Struts, Enterprise Java Beans and the like, so it will be entirely implemented in Java with all...

This may be a dumb thing to ask, but besides the penalty for dynamic typing, is there any other real reasons that Python is slower than Java? maurice

The company I work for is about to embark on developing a commercial application that will cost us tens-of-millions to develop. When all is said and done it will have thousands of business objects/classes, some of which will have hundreds-of-thousands of instances stored in a DB. Our clients will probably have somewhere between 50-200 users working on the app during the day, possibly in mutiple offices, and then a large number of batch...

I'm self taught and most of what I've been working on for the past several years has been entirely in Perl and Java. I've noticed that I can code about 5 times faster in Perl than Java, in part because I feel like whenever I want to do something in Java, I have to create an object, do a few preperatory things, then do what I need, but in Perl, I just call the routine. Java, however, does much better at cross platform apps, especially if...

Hi Everyone, I'm working hard trying to get Python 'accepted' in the organisation I work for. I'm making some good in-roads. One chap sent me the text below on his views of Python. I wondered if anyone from the group could give me some advice on how to respond / if they had been in a similar position. Any help appreciated, Thanks in advance,

I'll be a college freshman this fall, attending Florida Institute of Tech studying electrical engineering. I was considering taking some classes in programming and computer science, and I happened to notice that everything taught is using C++. After further research, it seems to me that C++ seems to be the dominating language in universities. By comparison, our local community college teaches a few classes in VB, Java, Javascript,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
