In my pythonfr/fr.comp.lang.py thon "Message de Bienvenue", I reference
Gmane which mirror via nntp several Python related mailing lists, maybe
you can find your hope there (or ask them to add mirrors for your
interrest lists).

See http://news.gmane.org/index.php?pref...ne.comp.python

Hi! I compared the printed results of two of my pages. One is a very old page, "styled" almost without any CSS. The other one is a modern page, styled completely in CSS and styled for printing, i.e. positions in cm, sizes in pt. Apparently IE (in this case only IE is used for viewing/printing) makes sure not to print half lines, if a line doesn't fit on page 1 it is taken to page 2. But only for the old page.

Hi All This is really bizarre prob that I don't know how I'm going to get round it. In essence I have created a site that allows the user to select their preferred shoe size, this then gets added to a simple cart and then they submit the cart order. The problem is that even though I'm being a good lad and using ½ to display the half sizes in the drop-down selector, eg Size 3, Size 3½,

I've finally gotten around to reading Accelerated C++ by Andrew Koenig and Barbara Moo. There's a lot of good stuff in what I've read so far. Even though it is _very_ basic, they present some concepts I have not encountered elsewhere, or explain ones I have encountered in ways that add to my understanding. There are a few points of style with which I take issue, such as not consistently using braces around the body of an if or loop,...

Hi all. I'm using ifstream to read from a named pipe but i've encountered an annoying problem. For some reason, the program blocks on reading an ifstream's internal buffer that's only half-filled. Only when the buffer becomes full does it resume execution. Here's my test code for reading from a pipe: //(compiled with g++ -std=c++98) //--------------------------------------------- #include <iostream>

Hello, I'm trying to create a memory dump parser tool for which I plan to use existing header files that contain structures of registers. My plan is to use a union and include the structures in the header files plus a 'dump' variable where I would store the memory dump. A simplified version of this would look something like this: union { struct

When I call graphics.DrawRectangle(Pens.Black, 100, 100, 10, 10) the top left pixel is not painted if PixelOffsetMode is set to PixelOffstMode.Half. Why? Looks like a serious bug to me. PixelOffsetMode.Half is supposed to be more accurate than the default mode so why this? protected override void OnPaint(PaintEventArgs e)

I am developing a new website for our company with c# dotNet. There is no problem displaying this website with ie6. Last week I downloaded ie7 because a friend of mine said he could only see half of a particular page (not all, just this one). It is like it cuts this page in half about halfway down. The page it cuts in half is a GridView. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Trint

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
