I would like to develop a server based on python's xmlrpc. But I realized that SimpleXMLRPCServer does not spawn a thread for each request. How could the SimpleXMLRPCServer be turned into a multi-threaded Server? Is there a reason why the SimpleXMLRPCServer is not multi-threaded? Is there a plan to make it multi-threaded? Thanks for any hints in advance,

Hi, the typical usage of SimpleXMLRPCServer registers some class with the server instance and then jumps into a serve-forever loop, e.g. server = SimpleXMLRPCServer(('', 8000)) server.register_instance(MyClass()) server.serve_forever() is there a way to process actions other than XML-RPC

I noticed the SimpleXMLRPCServer/ServerProxy creates a new socket for remote procedure call. I've written a simple IP based authentication scheme for the Server, and I'd like to include the port in the authentication, which is currently not possible since the port keeps changing. I've looked at the code in SimpleXMLRPCServer.py, xmlrpclib.py, SocketServer.py, and BaseHTTPServer.py, but it's a little overwhelming. How difficult would it...

....If the answer is Yes, can you give me an example either in the server side and the client side? I googled a lot, but I can't find nothing regarding this. A lot of thanks. Daniel

Hello all, I writing an application based on the SimpleXMLRPCServer class. I would like to know the IP address of the client performing the RPC. Is that possible, without having to abandon the SimpleXMLRPCServer class? -- Kind regards, Jan Danielsson

I have a pretty simple XMLRPCServer, something along the lines of the example: server = SimpleXMLRPCServer(("localhost", 8000)) server.register_function(pow) server.register_function(lambda x,y: x+y, 'add') server.serve_forever() Now what I want to do is catch any errors that happen on requests, and ideally have them emailed to me. I have the email part all taken care

I'm coming back to Python after an absence and it's surprising how many things I've forgotten since wandering (against my will) into Java land. Anyway, I have a need for a way to make SimpleXMLRPCServer interruptable. Basically, I have a main server that, in response to certain RPC calls, creates additional servers on different ports. I then need to be able to shut these additional servers down. I've got something like this in the...

I'm using SimpleXmlRpcServer class. Although I set encoding parameter in the constructor, I have to return all strings in default platform encoding (windows-1250/win32 or iso-8859-2/linux in my case). When I send values in, for example, UTF-8, string received by client is messed up. The client is written in java using Apache XmlRpc library 2.0. Is there any solution other than sending all string values in Base64 encoding? --

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
