I have been trying out urwid for creating ncurses based applications.
I will like to know if any one has ever tried to create menu bar with
drop down menus using urwid?
any suggestion?

In Access 2000 on Citrix, we have an app which uses an MDE with a customized and limited menu bar, "AppMenu" across the top of the Access screen. This menu bar is specified in the "Startup" option box of the MDB. (In the box "Allow Full Menus" and "Allow Shortcut Default" are checked. One of the users has apparently undocked the menu bar, then closed it by clicking the 'X' in the upper right hand corner. The menu bar has disappeared,...

I have a two part question. I would like to provide a run-time feature that would duplicate the design-time capability to create a Context Menu. This would be where the user could create their own ContextMenus. I would like to save this Menu structure as either XML or a text file using C#. The iterface for creating menus (either Main Menu/ or Context Menu) is very simple, but trying to understand how to add different levels (either...

Hello, Is it possible to step through the "Create MDE" process and see what is causing Access to crash? I tried, unsuccessfully, many times to create an MDE from my database. But, randomly, I checked the "Allow Full Menus" in the Startup section. I was then able to create an MDE. That worked once. It has not worked since and I don't particularly

Hi: I have created a secured database for a client. For various reasons, I don't want the client to have full persmissions for the database; they aren't in the admins group. I have instead tried to create a second group, called "localAdmin," for the admin-type person at the client. I want this group to be able to do some basic admin-type stuff, including adding new users and clearing passwords if users forget theirs. I can't seem to...

I'm fairly new at this and trying to create a dynamic menu. I use the function getMANames to put all the submenu item names into an array. I am confident this sub is working properly. When I look in debug mode the object insertJobMenu is reporting the correct number of items. If I look at one of those items it has the correct name. However when I run the code I don't get a drop-down menu. I can see "InsertJobs" on the menu bar, however...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
