New release of a project of mine....

3 New Member
Hi, I've been working for the last time on a project on sourceforge called kika, that consists on a simple python script, and it's a sort of a plain text preproccessor that uses xml to define the proccessing to be done. I recently made a packaged release (deb and rpm) for linux.

I'm looking for some opinions about the project, to see if anyone thinks it's something that could actually be a usefull tool...

If anyone is interested on checking this out, the projects home page is:

http://kika.sourceforge.net/

And the sourceforge page is:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/kika/

I haven't had time to check out you software, but I am really impressed with your sourceforge project presentation. We look forward to your posts on the Python forum on this site!

Thanx! I'm actually a newbie using python, but find it a pretty nice programming language. I already have in mind another python projects, so I'll probably be asking many things in a short time....

Also, I have to update the documents that I have on the page, cause they refer to an older version of the project....

Hi, I'm writing a largish (>60 projects) solution with VS.NET 2003 using VB.NET as my implementation language. I'm using NUnit and NUnit VS.NET-addin to implement unit tests for my code. Currently I have a single UnitTests-project that contains unit tests for all other projects. This way I can embed all unit testing into a single assembly which I can use during the development but exclude from a setup that I create from other...

Problem: In 'solution A', 'project 1' references 'project 2'. As such, when 'solution A' is built (debug mode), project '1' creates a dll in /debug, and project '2' referneces that dll. All is good. When 'solution A' is built in release mode however, 'project 1' is recompiled and the new dll is put into '/release', but 'project 2' still references the dll from project '1's /debug folder, and as such is compiled using the older /debug version of...

Hi everybody ! Could anybody shed some light into the following paradox : I am creating a static library under VS 2005 VC++ Win32 using MFC. If compiled right after creating by a wizard, a release version of the LIB shows the size of almost 2 MB - without any contents of mine ! The debug version is less then a tenth of it at that... Is it a problem of some wrong project settings or is it a bug? Or

Hello, In VS2003, I used to have two solutions - a debug and release solution. Each solution had a webservice project and several other class library projects. The webservice project referenced all the other class library projects (i.e. so that it used the dll created when those other projects were built). The debug solution was configured so that all the projects in it had debug

I am having trouble getting debug and release builds to work properly with project references using C++ .NET and Visual Studio 2003. I created a test solution, with a basic Windows form C++ project. I then add a class library, and add a reference to this project in the first project. When I do a release build, I see the following in the output from the DLL compile: /OUT:"C:\Documents and Settings\Andrew\My Documents\Visual Studio

I have an asp.net 2.0 project that when I change the build configuration to release I get the following error: Command line error BC2014: the value 'None' is invalid for option 'debug'. If I go into the projects Advanced Compile Options and change the Generate Debug Info dropdown from None to PDB-Only the error goes away. Can anyone explain why I have to do this and what can I do to get the one option to work on a asp.net project? ...

I have a Web Service that was originally created with .NET VC 2003, and subsequently converted to the 2005 version. It works fine when built as a debug version, and run on the workstation it was built on. Now I want to build a release version so I can deploy it to Windows 2003 server. This project is compiled with "/clr:oldSystax". I've run into several problems and I am not sure all of the things I am discovering are related. Any help...

Hello, Is there a way to get Visual Studio 2003 look to one directory for debug version dlls when set to DEBUG and then to another directory where I store the release version of a dll when set to RELEASE? My current project uses about 8 dlls I've written in the past, but I don't want to keep re-compiling them for debug/release depending on whether I'm compiling the current project for debug/release.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
