Question about the article "py2exe compiler" in Python Cookbook by Alexander Semenov

Hello all:

I follow the following tutorial

http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Coo.../Recipe/108598
Description:
script for making executables with py2exe
##############
from distutils.core import setup
import sys, os, py2exe

name = sys.argv[1]
sys.argv[1] = 'py2exe'
sys.path.append (os.path.dirnam e(os.path.abspa th(name)))

setup(name=name[:-3], scripts=[name])
##############

However, I can not get the expected results.

1save the above script as file makexe.py under the folder
C:\Program Files\Python24\ Tools\Scripts

2add this path to system path

3C:\makexe.py myscript.py

What I got from the "dist" folder are as follows:
C:\dist\unicode data.pyd
C:\dist\w9xpope n.exe
C:\dist\zlib.py d
C:\dist\bz2.pyd
C:\dist\library .zip
C:\dist\MSVCR71 .dll
C:\dist\python2 4.dll

Suppose I should get an executable file under this folder.

What should I do to solve this problem?
Thank you
-Daniel

Someone should correct this recipe. In newer py2exe-versions,
you have to use 'console=[name]' in the above script.

Hi, I am working on access which generates some files (mostly text) that eventually will be used as input to fundware. Now i intend to completely automate this process, without having to export a file to textfile and then from that textfile to fundware. Also i am little skeptical about the version of fundware, it does not have direct facility to import data from excel. While investigating this, i found "REFERENCE" similar to libraries...

In my office, we have workstations with standard Win 2000 images (OS plus standard apps like Office, etc.) as developers, we then install our development tools on top of those images. other developers in my office have installed VS8 and use it with no problems. however, on a new workstation that I recently got, I have installed VS8, and get this error whenever I try to access a C# project or create a new C# project: "Project 'XYZ'...

I have a number of functions, e.g.: int funct1( int arg1, int arg2, int arg3 ); int funct2( int arg1, int arg2, int arg3 ); int funct3( int arg1, int arg2, int arg3 ); that are called via pointers in a table, with the same parameters regardless of the particular function. In some of the functions, one or more of the

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
