Getting PyXML and dom/minidom to ignore whitespace

Is there a way to get PyXML and dom/minidom to ignore whitespace? Or a
simple way to strip it away?

apologies for asking this. it must have been answered before. i have really tried to find the answer elsewhere. a simple question: i'd like to remove all ignorable whitespace from my minidom representation. it make the DOM much cleaner (for me). i've resorted to parsing first with Sax2 and using StripXml to deal with the whitespace. why not stick with the Sax2 DOM you ask? legacy code all uses the minidom, and they're not *quite*...

I'm attempting to read an XHTML 1.1 file, perform some DOM manipulation, then write the results to a different file. I've found myself rather stuck at the first hurdle. I have the following: from xml.dom.ext.reader import Sax2 reader = Sax2.Reader() f = open('dorward.me.uk/sitemap.html', 'r')

Hi, If i get myself a DOM tree using xml.dom.minidom (or full-fat xml.dom, i don't mind), is there an easy way to ask a element for its child elements of a particular type? By 'type' i mean 'having a certain tag'. This strikes me as a rather common thing to want to do, but i can't see a method for it; it seems i have to go through elem.childNodes myself, fishing out the ones i want. Or rather, to write exactly the same three-line...

Python itself provides parsers for xml and Dom support. So, if I install pyxml what additional advantage or features I will get in pyxml specially in minidom and parsers. Anyone, please provide a brirfing on this.

It would appear that xml.dom.minidom or xml.sax.* might be the best thing to use since PyXML is going without support. Best of all it is included in the base Python distribution, so no addition hunting required. Is this right thinking? Is there a better solution?

Great guys: As a newbie, I'm trying to simply parse a xml file using minidom, but I don't know why I get some extra children(?). I don't know what is wrong in xml file, but I've tried different xml files, still same problem. ****************************************************************************** xml file (fileTest) looks like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
