Multiple Polynomial Quadratic Sieve

Just to announce that I have posted an experimental version of MPQS which I
am hoping those of a mathematical turn of mind would care to test, comment
on and maybe contribute to.

There is work to do but it performs very well.

The package is available via FTP at
http://www.pythonstuff.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
account: python password: guest

Thanks

While googling for a non-linear equation solver, I found Math::Polynomial::Solve in CPAN. It seems a great little module, except it's not Python... I'm especially looking for its poly_root() functionality (which solves arbitrary polynomials). Does anyone know of a Python module/package that implements that? Just

I am looking for a quick C program that takes n+1 pairs of values (integers) (a_i, f(a_i)), i=0,...,n, generates the coefficients \alpha_i, i=0,...,n of the polynomial of degree n that fits these points and then outputs the polynomial with indeterminant in the form \sum_i=0^n\alpha_i X^i, where X is just some indeterminant. Any hints? ...

Just wanted to report a delightful little surprise while experimenting with psyco. The program below performs astonoshingly well with psyco. It finds all the prime numbers < 10,000,000 Processor is AMD64 4000+ running 32 bit. Non psyco'd python version takes 94 seconds.

Hi, I have the following problem: Situation: Access 2000 database with VBA code. Depending on the 'grade' of our product (sodiumbicarbonate, for the ones interested), we need to enter the weight of some sieves we use on a regular base. I now have a form in wich you can select the 'grade' in a listbox, and then it sets the recordsource for the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
