import fails

Hello all,

Can anyone explain this:
C:\Python\Proje cts\DbDesigner> python
Python 2.3.4 (#53, May 25 2004, 21:17:02) [MSC v.1200 32 bit (Intel)] on win32
Type "help", "copyright" , "credits" or "license" for more information.
from Db.FieldTypes import IdentifierField Type
from Db.FieldTypes import * Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in ?
TypeError: attribute name must be string

I can do anything except "import *" - in that case, I get this very
strange exception. Do you have any idea?

It appears you have an __all__ var in Db/FieldTypes.py that contains a
non-string.

Hello, I am using python-2.2.2 on linux-ARM. Python itself works OK. However, importing pickle gives me *very* strange results: The first 'import pickle' fails with "ImportError: No module named StringIO" If I immediately do a second 'import pickle', it works????

Hi, I've been trying to embed (statically) wxPy alongside an embedded py interpreter on a linux/gtk box. At one point, for some reason misc.o linking reported "multiple definitions of wxGetFreeMemory()". Since wxGetFreeMemory() seemed effectively unused in gtk, I just commented it out in misc_wrap.cpp (didn't want to patch SWIG to regenerate the wrapper code, so hacked the generated cpp source), and replaced...

Hello all, I have a couple of questions related to module importing. 1) When I start my Python program with `python foo.py` instead of simply adding a interpreter comment on the first line and do `./foo.py`, some "local" imports fails, I guess because current working directory is different. Is CWD the only difference between running `python foo.py` and `./foo.py`? What is the recommended way? (I guess security is one aspect that can...

I have been running some tests with regards to xsl:include and xsl:import with the same results on both and I am wondering if someone can explain this behavior to me! First off the xslt file is being loaded as in dim myXSLT as new XslTransform() myXSLT.load("scripts/clnt.home.body.xslt") The load craps out when I change the xsl:include, tried all of the following

I'm using a public set of schemas for GML, avaiable at www.opengis.net/gml. They all include or import each other but live in a folder hierarchy, so the import statement includes schemaLocation="../xlink/xlinks.xsd". I've written a schema that imports the top level one using schemaLocation="http://schemas.opengis.net/gml/3.1.0/base/feature.xsd". I've also tried downloading it and putting it in the schema cache but in both cases the build...

Now 2.5 is out, and we have a syntax for explicit relative imports (PEP 328, http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0328/, in case anyone wasn't paying attention). The long-term plan is that the classical import syntax becomes absolute import only, so that all imports are explicitly one or the other. You can only use relative import from within packages. Trying to import a top-level module relatively from within same directory, produces...

I am working with a client running 2003 Access. Some time ago I built them an import spec for use with the Import Wizard. Several months later, I have been called back and asked to solve a problem ... they tried to customize the spec and now the Import Wizard always fails on the last step (when one presses the 'finish' button), returning the dialogue box message "Invalid Use of Null". Running some test, I have determined that the...

hello, The import statement "import sqlite3" gives the error given below. In simple programs, the import statement (sometimes) succeed, and I can indeed access the database. So I guess there is some conflict with another part of my program, but as the program is rather large (and dynamic) it's not easy to isolate the problem. Does anyone has a clue how to trace this kind of problem ?

I have a python script (part of a django application, if it makes any difference) which is exhibiting the following behaviour: import my_module # succeeds imp.find_module("my_module") # fails, raising ImportError which is completely baffling me. According to sys.path, both should fail; the directory containing my_module is not in sys.path (though the my_module directory itself is). More puzzlingly, printing out my_module.__file__...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
