I'm hoping that someone here can give me some insight into a problem I'm running into with Python, pywin32 and Excel. All-in-all using Python and pywin32 is great but I've run into a strange problem with the range Offset property, I'm not getting the correct offset and the returned range is a single cell and not the same size as the original range. For example, when I enter the following lines of code in PythonWin : from...

On two different Windows 98SE Systems, I have attempted to upgrade working Python 2.3.3 and win32all installations to Python 2.3.4. After what appeared to be successful installations of Python-2.3.4.exe, I next executed: > pywin32-201.win32-py2.3.exe as downloaded from SourceForge, in the belief that it was the appropriate companion for Python-2.3.4 (perhaps this is my mistake?). In both cases, the installed Pythonwin outputs the...

Hi, I'm thinking of developing an application with C# under .NET. My problem is that the application also must be able to run under Windows 95. As known .NET cannot be installed under Win95. So I thought of an application hosted on a central server. Is that possible? That is the application on the server must be accessible from a various number of clients those may be using Win95. Does anybody have information about that topic? Where...

Does anyone have an old version of this? I've got some old OEM stuff that will only handle Win95 because of some custom hardware drivers. The build 200 on sourceforge of pywin32 isn't old enough. I'm trying to get pyserial up and running. Python/Tkinter does OK at 233MHz! :) Thanks! Bob

Hi I am porting an old 32 bit application that uses thunking to call a 16bit DLL under Win32s. The application uses functionality provided by a custom 16 bit DLL (there is no 32 bit version). I'm trying to get the application working on Win95 with very little success. While GetProcAddress() can still locate UT(Un)Register, when

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
