Py2Exe and Threading

Lad
Does anyone use Py2exe for a script that uses threading modul.
In have a main thread and another in which I use smtplib to send email
while the main thread is running.
Under Python it works well but after compilation into exe it hangs(
freezes) in the thread where I send email with smtplib.

Tell py2exe it is a console application and see if that makes a
difference. When you tell py2exe that it is a windowed (ie non-
console) app, then the stdout you get is actually a 4k buffer
that throws various exceptions when it fills.

Hi all, I can't get a py2exe compiled app to run with numarray (numarray-0.5.win32- py2.2). Also wxPythonWIN32-2.3.3.1-Py22 and ActivePython-2.2.1-222. In the sample below, commenting out "import numarray" allows the exe to run. Left in, I get "4.exe has generated errors" etc. I'm going around and around and there isn't much on Google....

Hi, does anybody know how I can get py2exe to work with wxPython's wxCalendarCtrl? Currently, I have just a "standard" setup.py, and py2exe gives me a syntax error. Do I need to include any special extension and how? Below is the output I get as well as a small demo app to reproduce the problem.

I'm having a problem with py2exe for Python 2.3. I got fixed the Lookuperror no codec search functions registered: can't find encoding by following the instructions on the py2exe page (added -packages encodings --force-imports encodings). This resolved the codec error. When I tried to create an exe with py2exe I still got the following...

PROBLEM: When I try to create a classReader object I get an exception: "SAXReaderNotAvailable: No parsers found". This only happens when I run the ..EXE; it does not happen if I run the .PY file. When I'm running the .EXE this exception doesn't...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
