AAAAARRRRRRRRGGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH!!!!!! I hate Macs. I have a wxPython program. It runs fine on OS X when I launch it from the Terminal ("pythonw appname.py") . The user wants to be able to click it. Two main suggestions on the Internet, neither of which works: 1) "Use Platypus" So I download it, upgrade Stuffit, install both, figure out how to use it, create an app....and it doesn't work for graphical apps. Nice to know, thanks...

Bye Bye Billy Bob... Hello All, I'm a fairly literate windoz amateur programmer mostly in visual basic. I have switched to SuSE 9.2 Pro and am trying to quickly come up to speed with Python 2.3.4. I can run three or four line scripts from the command line but have not been able to execute a script from a file. I have used EMACS and JEDIT to create small test routines. I would right click the file and set properties to executable. I...

In the native world, there are a number of utilities that allow one to edit resources in an executable. I have a situation where I want an executable to contain a semi-static table. I want to be able to give selected people in the field instructions for changing this table. They will then distribute the program with the updated table within their groups. The people updating the table will not have Visual Studio. And if at all possible...

I have a small project which has around 10 .py files and I run this project using command line arguments. I have to distribute this project to somebody. I was wondering how can I make an executable or some kind of installer, so that end user doesn't need to compile and worry if he/ she has Python installed or not ? Every help is greatly appreciated.

I'd like to bundle Python with my app, which will be targeted at Linux, Windows and Mac. Discussions I've found about this tend to lead to py2exe, freeze, etc, but I'd like to do something rather simple and am seeking advice. What I'd like to do is just copy the standard libraries and executable(s) and adjust the paths in the environment variables. The libraries and executable(s) would reside in the same directory with the application...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
