wxPython Filedialog question

I am using wxPython version When using wxFileDialog to save
the filename returned is *always* the extension of the first entry in

That is if my wildcard string is as
"Bitmap files|*.bmp|JPE G files|*.jpg|GIF files|*.gif", the filename
returned is always <filename.bmp >, even if I select "JPEG files" or
"GIF files" in the
"Save as type" combo of the file selection box.

Is this a bug with wxPython ?

Hello, Is it possible to exclude certain files in a wx.FileDialog, so that the user won't see them and can't select them with the mouse in de File open window? I was thinking of somehow extending the class FileDialog(Dialog) in the wx module _windows.py to a subclass, but I'm not sure how to do that (if feasible).

Hi. I have a modal dialog whcih has a "Browse..." button which pops up a file selector. This all works fine, but the first thing the user has to do when they open the dialog is select a file, so I would like the dialog to automatically call the onBrowse function as soon as the dialog opens. However, I don't know how to do this. dlg.ShowModal() onBrowse() obviously doesn't work, and neither does the reverse. I was hoping

Hi All, Apologies if this should be seriously obvious. But I am quite new to Python and it is not quite so obvious yet. I have a GUI which will eventually load and display database information. I want the user to be able to browse for a database and then load it. My problem relates to how I set the value of a TextCtrl once the user has selected the database they wish to load.

Hi, Below is the VB code I am using to let users select the folder they want to save a file.My problem is once user selects a folder, none of the files in that folder is displayed. I understand it is because I am using FileDialogFolderPicker. My question is, when user selects a folder, is there a way to show all existing files under that folder, and also let them save the new file in the same folder. I want users to be able to see all...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
