unable to retrive the user records from database.

We are using insync server with PosgreSQL server as a database server. we unable to retrive the user records from database.it throws the error saying"Could not get list of storages.Error:(0x100000019L),Database fault"Please suggest.Will the DB get corrupted if server s down foe a long time?
