Reading into FoxPro via psqlODBC

P: 20

I wrote an application in Visual Foxpro 8 that reads data from another app's database (Advantage). Recently, tho, that app has changed its backend to PostgreSQL, so I need to update my VFP app to read from PostgreSQL.

I've installed the psqlODBC (8.2.4) driver and can connect and read from the database. The trouble I'm having is that every text field is coming across as a memo, which is screwing up my ORDER BYs, etc..

Is this normal behavior? My cxn string is basic:

Driver={PostgreSQL ANSI};Server=localhost;Port=5432;Database=ati;Uid= admin;Pwd=sqlpass;

Am I missing some setting?

Sorry for posting a VFP prob in here, but it seemed pretty related and there's no VFP forum here.
