postgis and related topics...

Is anyone out there using PostGIS in a production environment? If so does
anyone know how well if at all postgresql/postgis work with the likes of
ArcSDE and so on?

Also if anyone out there reading this is a contact at ESRI that knows the
behind the scenes support for postgresql Id like them to contact me. I
have attempted to find someone via simply contacting esri directly but so
far my attempts have been fruitless.

TIA

I think Postgres / PostGIS is an alternate solution to ArcSDE / SQL Server
or ArcSDE / Oracle,
not a complimentary one. At least that is the conclusion I've reached having
worked with both
types of solutions. As for a complimentary relationship... I do beleive
ArcMap can be a client
of PostGres/PostGIS data provided your installation has the optional
"Interoperability Extension".
That extension may be big $$ though.
