What is holding a connection open.

P: n/a
Is it possible to check what query was last run by a connection?
Every so often I am gettings all of my connections maxed and the whole
database just freezes and none of them are being closed.
Once I kill the first connection they all seem to just go away.

Is there a way to check what query is being run by the first
connection?

Thanks,
-ts
