Attaching files to the database.

P: n/a
Hi, i wonder if you can help.

Im busy making a document system where the documents/articles are
stored using postgresql.

Ive developed an interface which allows users to insert text in the
database, as you normally would using the INSERT command. The next
step is to allow the user to attach files of various different formats
to the database. The interface principle i am roughly following is
the 'attach file' section of Microsoft Outlook.

Ive searched the PSQL documentation but have not come across a command
for inserting the files. Does anyone have any clues on this issue?

Thanks in advance.
