document table schema

Dear all,

I am new to SQL programming.

I'd like to know what are the usual practices in documenting the table
schema.

How to document relationship among tables? (by diagram or text description?)
If I need to draw the schema in diagram, which software should I use? (Dia?
any better tools?)

Is there any articles teaching people how to do documentation for database?

Thank you very much for your help.

Yours,
Bill

I can successfully parse XML document using SAX or DOM and I can also validate XML document against schema. Problem is that my program should deal with user-defined schemas which means that when I parse some element from XML document I don't know until runtime the type of the element (it depends on the type used in user-defined schema). XML...

Hi I would like to specify an XML schema that would allow an XML document to be included within another XML document. The following example schema gives an idea of what we're trying to achieve ServiceResponse.xsd -------------------- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

I am learning Relax NG. The problem is that I cannot figure out how to make a schema for a table. In my case I would like to make a table with any name of child elements (columns) but columns should have the same number of child elements (cell). Say this file is valid <table> <column> <cell/> <cell/> </column>

I *think* I need to be able to validate subsets of an XML document using different schema. The functionality I'm trying to implement is this. a) External suppliers produce an XML document containing multiple User records. The external supplier validates this entire document using schema 1. This document is then uploaded to our system. b)...
