Trying to get property of non-object

Have this code that generates a error Trying to get property of non-object, that I cant figure out

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.     $order = $this->_createOrder($details['clientid']);
  2.                 $arr = json_decode($order); 
  3.                 $details['order'] = $order;
  4.                 $details['addorderresult'] = $arr->result;
  5.  
  6.             }

  3. $details['order'] = $order;
  4. $details['addorderresult'] = (object)$arr['result'];
  5.  
The two last ones but I changed it to following and now it seems to work.
