Static And Dynamic IP

What is the difference between Static or Dynamic IP addresses. please help me. I am confused with that concept.

Static IP addressing is constant IP address which remains same all time and Dynamic IP addressing assigns a different IP address each time the ISP customer logs on to their computer.

Just to add to that... the Dynamic address can also change in the middle of your connection too - this was very common with dial-up services and less so with DSL and faster services.
By rolling the IP in the middle of the connection, the ISP can service a larger number of clients during connection idle time for each client using a limited bandwidth - smaller ISPs still do this even with DSL connections.

Static IP :
Static IP has to be configured by system administrator.
Dynamic IP :
This is generally generated by DHCP server for given time interval .
