How to ZIP a Directory and Its Files Using PHP on Plesk?

P: 91
I have several hundred files on a server mananged by Plesk 9.5.1 and I wish to use PHP to ZIP files or folders recursively to be able to backup specific files and folders when needed.

As you know, Plesk does not provide ZIP or Compress functionality by itself. My Hosting company does not provide any addons to zip files, so I need to use PHP for this.

I searched the Internet to find a simple PHP code, and I tried some of them. But none of them worked for me.

Since I know nothing about PHP, I need help in this regard.

Can anyone give me a simple code that can Compress a Folder and Its Files into a Zipped File?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
