Unable to open PHP file in browser !

I have uploaded a php file to an website which is hosted by bluehost.Whenever I try to open the file in the browser instead of displaying the output it opens up the script for download. I even tried a simple script as phpinfo(). Can anyone pls help me with this? Maybe I'm missing out something as I'm new to php.

does bluehost support PHP at all? (some ISPs have that disabled on purpose)

Check Your hosting configuration. Also check that Appache is exists in your CPanel program list.

PHP Pear Package and PHP Config do exist in the software/service section.
The website has other PHP pages which are working fine.
The problem is with the new PHP pages I'am trying to add.

Thanks
