countdown timer

i am doing work at php with smarty.i want to be used a countdown timer in my web page.i am using this counter for my products.i want this counter work like this web site

set the "expire" date in the future in timestamp form.

To get the date to count down, subtract current time from it like so:

$tl = date('Y-m-d H:i:s',$expire-time())
