Having problem in easyphp & phpmyadmin?

hello frnz................
i have installed easyphp 5.3.6.0 n using 4 d 1st time
i m facing certain probs
1) i have written php code in notepad editor for "hello world". Saved it in www folder in easyphp
now m tring to run it by right clicking on easyphp->local web->typing the file name.
Now the o/p dat m gettin is the whole code which i had written in notepad with ".php" extension.
2) next prob is m trying to open phpmyadmin by right clicking easyphp->configuration->PhpMyAdmin. After this its showing an error : #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) & phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.
do i need to change my pwd in mysql
also i1 thing i have installed mysql 5.5 before installing easyphp
if i need to change pwd den how

no links plz xplain in simple words

plz help me out with these 2 probs i wil b greatful 2 u
