How to update database tuples from web page?

techsoul
I had database and some entries already written in it.I want these entries to get in a 'edit field' when i click on an edit option,after editing i want to save it back on same position.(just like an blog editing works).But I don't know where should i start it.I know how to insert data to database from web page."Problem where i am stuck is how to get already written data from database to text edit field of web page?"

I am stuck here for last two days.Desperately waiting for your guidance.
