Getting error 500 internal server error

Hi there
sorry If I posted this thread under wrong head.

When I am trying to run my site I am getting error as Internal Server Error, but when I refresh page , i get result properly. I don't know why this is so? Detailed error is like:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [e-mail] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I checked the server error log it shows like:

[Sat Jun 12 01:21:55 2010] [error] [client 117.195.6.76] File does not exist: /home/rohit25/public_html/test/500.shtml, referer: http://www.test.mysite.com/home.php



why this is so? Can you help me please?

it seems like you try to load test/500.shtml (the error document) which doesn’t exist (or it exists at another place).

otherwise I suspect there’s something wrong with your .htaccess file.

Hi Dormilich,
I am not trying to load such file, but the above message comes when I go with as usual url.
And as you are saying with .htaccess file which contains other errors like error code: 400, 401, 403, 404, 405, 301,302, 408.
These errors are working fine.
Please Help.
