hii i am extracting a description field from mysql database say after 2 lines of the text i need to give a read more link ...can some1 explain how to do it and whats it generally called!

I don’t know, how it is generally called, but usually you crop the text after a certain length, add a link bearing a certain parameter and if the page is called (again) with this parameter, omit the cropping.
