mails go to spam folder

ours is a university i m making an application so that students can apply online
but the problem is that all mails by students go to spam folder of college email id.Is it a domain hosting problem?

Very likely. I suggest you study the subject.
You can attempt to 'clean' the emails to make them less spam-like.
Plain text rather than html if possible.
Ensure all the correct headers with valid return addresses are present.
This is a huge subject, similar to writing web-pages that score with search engines.
One word can make all the difference

Make Sure Sent Email Is Not Labeled As Spam.
