deleting record after getting confirmation from user

i am a beginner to php.i have a doubt. could anybody clarify my doubt?

i am having a 'delete' page. in that the user has to enter the user id which is to be deleted. while clicking delete button a confirmation message should be displayed ' are you sure you want to delete?' ... if the user clicks 'yes' the particular record has to be deleted. how to achieve this... can naybody tell the coding for this?

u can use javascript confirm to check wht user tells yes/ no
