Embedding iCal in Moodle

Hi all,

I am working on a Moodle project, I have downloaded and installed the latest build(1.9); me using this framework for the first time so presently trying to get familiar with the environment.

The requirement is to embed an iCal kinda calendar on Moodle's front page using the PHP iCalendar API. I downloaded the latest version of PHP iCalendar but couldn't quite comprehend the 'read me' file instructions.

Has anyone ever worked with something similar before? Or can someone point me to a site or a demo where they have embedded a custom calendar using this API?

Thanks in advance.

Did you try Google?

See here: http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?&q...le+Search&aq=f

Lots of help there. If you have a PHP language/scripting question, come back and we'll gladly help!

Good luck,

Hi Dan,

Thank you for the suggestion :)

I did google a lot before posting on BYTES.

Most of the links Google showed me were for importing Moodle calendar in your thunderbird or Google calendar, i.e some online calendar, using Moodle's ICAL feature, which I was already aware of.

I in turn needed some help doing things the other way round.

I am trying to build a plug-in sorta thing which allows you to put a custom calendar (in place of the regular Moodle calendar) such as iCal on your Moodle site.

Ok, I see. Does Moodle have some kind of forum/support/community?

Ya, I'm not familiar with Moodle. Sorry.

Hi,

Yes, Moodle does have a very big and resourceful community. I have posted my query there.

Will surely post about the events here once things get sorted out and I am able to get my module working!

Take care!
