API Integration: Convert ASP to PHP

Hi,

I'm currently trying to develop what should be a simple module to integrate my PHP web site with NewZapp Email Marketing system. The idea is that I use their APIs to update mailing list prefernces and to get current mailing list preferences.

The documentation supplied gives examples in VB and ASP. Here is the ASP version:

objHTTP.open "POST", SoapServerURL, False
objHTTP.setRequestHeader "Man", POST & " " & SoapServerURL & " HTTP/1.1"
objHTTP.setRequestHeader "MessageType", "CALL"
objHTTP.setRequestHeader "Content-Type", "text/xml"
objHTTP.send(sendReq)
Response.write objHTTP.responseText
Set objHTTP = Nothing
Set objXMLDOM = Nothing
 

My question is this - can this be converted to PHP and if so how? I would like to add the resultant code as a function on an already existing object. I've Googled around on this but every search I try return information about AJAX and I feel certain that if ASP can do it then PHP should be able to do it.

Can some one help me out with this or point me in the right direction?
