legal writing, it hurts their brain trying to understand legal
'logic' and step down to that level.
Hey, I never thought of it that way. I feel much better now! ;)
(I even suspect it can even
permanently damage your brain if you read too much legeslation.)
And behold, a politician is born.

It's an arrogant and disrespectful way of saying "I've never managed
to complete a 400 page book without pictures, but i'm a genius
anyway".

I really can't see how the fact that you can code and the other guy
can't but the other guy can read law books and you can't makes you the
smarter one.

ps. i wholeheartedly agree with the rest Erwin wrote, though.

Aw, now who's being disrespectful. I don't know which books you're
reading, but mine - especially the programming books - don't often have
pictures and are usually more than 400 pages.

To me, it is an arrogant and disrespectful way of saying "I hate
legalese. It hurts my brain and I have no desire to step down to the
level required to learn that language."
I really can't see how the fact that you can code and the other
guy can't but the other guy can read law books and you can't makes

Of course it doesn't*. It feels good to say it, though. Fortunately,
ego boosters don't need to be based on facts :-)
