Screen scrape Google Scholar through a proxy

I'm trying to do the above using the proxy access class described
here:

http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.fopen.php#82586

Unfortunately, I get "Error 302 the file has moved" and a link - the
link is the same URL I am passing to the proxy class. The same screen
scraping running on a system without a proxy works fine.

Any ideas what might be wrong here?
