joomla mXcomment

I wanted to edit one file in components/com_maxcomment/....full.php
i edited but when i try to upload it says no permissions and it doesnt
even allow me to change the file permissions. Why would a file sitting
on my server deny any changes to its own admin??

I went through many forums but did not get a solution. So had to ask
it out here

regards.

Hello!
Is the file created by Joomla?
Yes?
So, the OWNER ist teh Webserver.
If you want to delete it by FTP -FTP has no rights to the file.

Hello Olaf,
Yeah, but i found a solution : install joomlaXplorer and it gives u
the power to chmod easily.
Actually the problem is some extensions do not have the proper user
assigned as joomla doesnt install them as a user and hence u need to
chown first but otherwise joomlaxplorer works just fine
